Note to former ITT students: On January 3, a group of students filed a proof of claim on behalf of themselves and asked to represent all students who attended ITT between at least 2006 and the time ITT closed. The students have also asked the bankruptcy judge to confirm that they will be able to represent this group. We do not know yet whether they will be allowed to do so. Until the judge rules on this request, you should file a proof of claim using the instructions below to make sure that your rights are protected.
If the judge grants the students’ request, your claim will be grouped together with the other students’ claim, and your claim will be litigated by the lawyers representing the class of students. If the judge grants class status, you will be included in the class regardless of whether you file a proof of claim.
