Jon-Yin Mills Chong
Paralegal, Federal Tax Clinic
Jon-Yin Mills Chong joined the Legal Services Center in 2020 to assist low-income clients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Jon-Yin has volunteered at, or partnered with, no-cost income tax assistance sites in Alaska, California, Upstate New York, New York City, and Massachusetts. As a graduate business student, Jon-Yin was the first student director of Cornell Law School’s cross-disciplinary Low-Income Taxpayer Practicum. After graduating from Cornell, he joined Ernst & Young’s Tax Technology and Transformation practice in New York City. As one of four members of the final presentation team, Jon-Yin helped Cornell University win the national C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Scholarship Award at the 2019 Engagement Scholarship Consortium. Before joining the Legal Services Center, he worked for Urban Upbound, a NYC non-profit that provides residents of public housing neighborhoods the tools and resources needed to achieve economic mobility and self-sufficiency. He has a BS in Applied Economics and Management and a MPS in Accounting from the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business.
